Honoring the Art & Craft of Aminah Robinson
I endeavored to create a compelling portrait of a local art hero, blending studies and explorations of what I believe is Aminah’s unique way of applying layers (carving, buttons, sewing, printmaking) with my ways of using the grain and tones of the wood panel with layers of color pencil, paint and pastels. Extra focus applied to her beautiful working hands holding one of her favorite tools.
