Columbus Libraries (CML) Commission

Honoring the Art & Craft of Elijah Pierce
I endeavored to create a compelling portrait of a local art hero, blending studies and explorations of what I believe is Elijah’s unique way of carving worlds into surface with my ways of using the grain and tones of the wood panel with layers of color pencil, paint and pastels. Extra focus applied to his beautiful working hands holding one of his favorite tools.
